Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador invest in recreation, green, rural and public transit infrastructure

Today, the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development, on behalf of the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities, the Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Elvis Loveless, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, announced more than $23.8 million in funding to support 23 recreation, green, rural and public transit infrastructure projects across Newfoundland and Labrador.

CBSA stops prohibited guns from entering Canada at the Coutts border crossing

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) continues to protect Canadians by preventing undeclared and prohibited firearms from entering the country. The interdiction of illicitly imported firearms, firearms parts, and weapons is a CBSA enforcement priority. The Agency announced today that it has laid charges in a significant firearms seizure at the Coutts port of entry in southern Alberta.

Call for proposals to help increase skills development opportunities for Indigenous people

Indigenous people continue to face multiple and persistent barriers to labour market entry and success. At the same time, Canada’s economic recovery from COVID-19 is challenged by labour shortages in key sectors. For these reasons, the Government of Canada is working with Indigenous people and organizations to help prioritize their access to targeted skills development opportunities that they need to succeed.

New EV Chargers Coming to Ontario
