Media are invited to attend the departure ceremony for Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Halifax, as the ship’s company of 253 set sail for a six-month deployment to the North Atlantic and northern European waters as part of Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1) on Operation REASSURANCE, in support of NATO assurance and deterrence measures in Central and Eastern Europe.

Over $16M in support for WIPTEC for a new order preparation centre

The governments of Canada and Quebec, as well as Investissement Québec, are granting a total of $16.125 million in financial assistance to WIPTEC to establish an order preparation centre in Longueuil for consumers, boutiques, and big box stores. Valued at nearly $100 million, this first of three phases for the project is expected to create over 380 permanent jobs, for a total of 630 positions in the business.

Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, announced an investment of up to $113,575 for Be Seen Be Safe Ltd. to determine and promote an innovative technology system to help protect the livestock industry in the event of disease outbreak.
