Government creates record number of job opportunities for youth and students across Canada 

Young people were among the hardest hit when the pandemic struck. That is why the Government of Canada continues to make historic investments to ensure that youth have the supports and opportunities they need to build long and successful careers. With that goal in mind came the creation of over 300,000 youth and student jobs since the start of the pandemic and the Canada Emergency Student Benefit, which provided income support for over 700,000 students last summer.

Backgrounder: Canada and Ontario invest over $2 million in improved community, culture, and recreational infrastructure in Eastern Ontario

The Government of Canada is investing more than $1.1 million in these projects through the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada plan. The Government of Ontario is providing over $941,000. The recipients are contributing more than $753,000 toward their respective projects.

Government of Canada and Province of British Columbia invest in sustainable salmon research and aquaculture science

Today, the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, and the BC Parliamentary Secretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Fin Donnelly, announced $7.9 million in funding for seven projects under the British Columbia Salmon Restoration and Innovation Fund (BCSRIF).
