The Skills and Partnership Fund (SPF) provides funding for partnerships between Indigenous organizations and industry employers to offer skills training for Indigenous people linked to economic opportunities at the local, regional and national levels. By equipping Indigenous people with the skills needed for in-demand jobs, the SPF plays a key role in directly linking training efforts and Indigenous people to specific jobs to improve their employment outcomes.

Black entrepreneurs and business owners receive specialized support thanks to nearly $25M in Government of Canada funding

Greg Fergus, Member of Parliament for Hull‒Aylmer and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and to the President of the Treasury Board, accompanied by Emmanuel Dubourg, Member of Parliament for Bourassa, highlighted that a total of over $24,610,000 in financial assistance has been granted by the Government of Canada to ten organizations that will support Black entrepreneurs and communities in Quebec and Canada. Mr. Fergus participated in a virtual conference, on behalf of the Honorable Pascale St-Onge, Member of Parliament for Brome–Missisquoi, Minister of Sport and Minister responsible for CED, and the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development.

Canada to match up to $10 million in donations from Canadians in response to humanitarian crisis in Ukraine

Today, the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, announced that Canada will match every donation made by individual Canadians to the Canadian Red Cross between February 24, 2022, and March 18, 2022, up to a maximum of $10 million.
