The Government of Canada is committed to a renewed relationship with Indigenous Peoples based on the recognition of rights, respect, cooperation and partnership. Government of Canada invests $11.8 million in Indigenous fisheries - Opportunities in BC

Through the Pacific Integrated Commercial Fisheries Initiative (PICFI), the Government of Canada is investing $11.8 million to support First Nations commercial fisheries enterprises for the benefit of Indigenous communities across British Columbia. These PICFI investments support new business and training opportunities and increased fisheries access for 31 Indigenous commercial fisheries companies representing 117 First Nations. PICFI is co-developed, co-designed and co-delivered in collaboration with Indigenous partners.

Canada Invests in Deep Energy Retrofits for Residential Units 

Today, Julie Dabrusin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, on behalf of the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources, announced an investment of more than $4.4 million to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) to enable energy efficiency in the residential sector in municipalities across Canada.
