Today, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development Karina Gould participated in a roundtable with stakeholders to discuss investments for making the switch to zero-emission vehicles more affordable and building a national network of electric vehicle charging stations.

Minister Wilkinson Announces $32.2 Million to Support the Atlin Hydro Expansion Project

Today, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources, joined by the Honourable Sandy Silver, Premier of Yukon; the Honourable John Streicker, Minister responsible for the Yukon Development Corporation and the Yukon Energy Corporation; and Brendan Hanley, Member of Parliament for Yukon, announced a $32.2 million investment through the Low Carbon Economy Fund to Tlingit Homeland Energy Limited Partnership for the Atlin Hydro Expansion Project.

Canada and Nova Scotia Announce Intent to Expand the Mandate of Offshore Energy Regime to Support the Transition to a Clean Economy and Create Sustainable Jobs

The Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, and the Honourable Tory Rushton, Nova Scotia’s Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables, jointly announced their intention to facilitate the transition to a clean economy and create sustainable jobs by refreshing and expanding the mandate of the Canada-Nova Scotia offshore energy regime. Both governments also committed to further collaborate on establishing a competitive, world-class offshore renewables sector, positioning Nova Scotia to become a world leader in offshore wind and clean hydrogen production.

Confederation College to expand its aviation program, enhancing growth and competitiveness as the economy recovers

Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology delivers post-secondary education and training to an average of 7,000 students each year. To help it recover from the impacts of the pandemic, the college will receive a non-repayable contribution of $1 million from FedNor. This support, granted through the Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI), will enable Confederation College to implement the Northwestern Ontario Aviation Expansion project.
