Canada and Prince Edward Island invest in new water, clean energy and active transportation infrastructure for Stratford 

Today, the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, and Member of Parliament for Cardigan, on behalf of the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities; the Honourable James Aylward, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure; and Gary Clow, Deputy Mayor of the Town of Stratford, announced joint funding for five community infrastructure projects, improving water, clean energy and active transportation infrastructure in Stratford.

Message from the Minister of Health on World Autism Awareness Day

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada’s recent report, autism is the most common neurodevelopmental condition in Canada, affecting 1 in 50 Canadians aged 1-17. Each autistic person is unique and will have different strengths, needs, and challenges throughout their life. Addressing the needs of Autistic Canadians, their families and supporters, requires a coordinated effort. Work is ongoing across sectors and all levels of government, to find better ways to support autistic people and their families.

Government of Canada investments to create new jobs, enhance productivity and grow businesses in Parry Sound–Muskoka

Government of Canada invests in sustainable water infrastructure for Iqaluit

Today, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada; the Honourable Daniel Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs; the Honourable P.J. Akeeagok, Premier of Nunavut; and His Worship Kenny Bell, Mayor of the City of Iqaluit, announced federal funding of over $214 million through the Disaster and Mitigation Adaptation Fund to ensure the safety and long-term sustainability of Iqaluit’s water supply system.

Government of Canada takes further action to address labour shortages in Quebec

Canada’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic is well underway. In February 2022, Canada added 337,000 jobs, bringing the unemployment rate to 5.5%—the lowest since the start of the pandemic. In fact, Canada’s economic recovery is outpacing the ability of many employers to find workers, particularly in Quebec. To support Canada’s continued economic growth, the Government of Canada is focused on building a strong, resilient workforce in all sectors through the implementation of the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program Quebec Pilot Project, and the introduction of province-restricted open work permits for foreign nationals selected for permanent residence by Quebec.
