Gap Inc. agrees to pay $200,000 for allegedly violating Canada’s anti-spam legislation
Today, the CRTC announced that it has reached an agreement with Gap Inc. for allegedly violating Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL). In addition to implementing corrective measures, it has agreed to make a payment of $200,000. Gap is a US-based global apparel retailer which operates several clothing divisions, including Banana Republic and Old Navy.
Government of Canada announces funding for protection of species at risk and their habitats
Today, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, announced more than $5.4 million in funding through the Habitat Stewardship Program and the Aboriginal Fund for Species at Risk to support 105 species at risk conservation projects for 2021–2022. These projects will be led by Indigenous communities and organizations, volunteer scientists and stewards, and landowners.
