The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) today announced a new partnership that will allow for the long-term preservation of Survivor statements and other master audiovisual content from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).

Alexandra Bridge closed to motorists

Gatineau, Quebec, February 18, 2022 – The Alexandra Bridge currently has a 27-tonne load restriction applied to all types of vehicles. Out of an abundance of caution and safety due to the ongoing demonstration taking place in Ottawa, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise motorists that the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Innovative agricultural insurance product to strengthen Manitoba forage and livestock sectors

The Canada and Manitoba governments are investing $253,600 through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) to develop a new usage-based insurance (UBI) product, in collaboration with Dairy Farmers of Manitoba (DFM), to respond to needs expressed by forage crop growers and other stakeholders in a 2020 review of forage insurance programs, federal Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Terry Duguid and Manitoba Agriculture Minister Derek Johnson announced today.

Federal government announces an investment in public transit systems across Canada

Today, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, announced that the Government of Canada intends to introduce legislation to invest up to $750 million to support municipalities facing transit operating shortfalls, in collaboration with provinces and territories. This one-time payment would help cities maintain service levels despite decreased ridership as a result of the pandemic.

Government of Canada invests nearly $6.6 million to bring high-speed Internet to more than 2,500 households in Saskatchewan

New EV Chargers Coming to The Yukon

Today, Brendan Hanley, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources, announced a $595,000 investment in the Government of Yukon to install 14 EV fast chargers in communities and remote locations, making inter-community EV transit possible across the Yukon.
