Ontario-based business pays $300K to the Environmental Damages Fund as part of an alternative measures agreement related to a hydrocarbon spill

On June 24, 2021, Drewlo Holdings Inc. entered into an alternative measures agreement with the Director of Public Prosecutions acting under and on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada, in response to Environment and Climate Change Canada laying a charge under the Fisheries Act.

G7 Foreign Ministers’ statement on Belarus 

“We, the G7 Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and the High Representative of the European Union, condemn the Belarusian regime’s orchestration of irregular migration across its borders. These callous acts are putting peoples’ lives at risk. We are united in our solidarity with Poland, as well as with Lithuania and Latvia, which have been targeted by this provocative use of irregular migration as a hybrid tactic.

Government of Canada makes major investment in Atlantic Canada’s biomanufacturing sector

Today, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, announced a $39.8 million investment to support BIOVECTRA’s $79.6 million project. This contribution will help the company build a state-of-the-art facility in Prince Edward Island and reconfigure its facilities in Nova Scotia. This will boost Canada’s domestic supply of vaccines and therapeutics.
