The Government of Canada continues to exhaust every option to get as many Afghans to safety as possible, in partnership with our allies around the world. In the first phase of our operation, Canada evacuated roughly 3,700 people from Afghanistan—the majority of whom are refugees who supported Canada’s mission, and will soon begin new lives in this country.

Tribunal Initiates Final Injury Inquiry—Certain Small Power Transformers from Austria, Chinese Taipei and South Korea

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today initiated an inquiry to determine whether the dumping of certain small power transformers, originating in or exported from the Republic of Austria, the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), and the Republic of Korea, has caused injury or is threatening to cause injury. This final injury inquiry was initiated further to a notice received from the Canada Border Services Agency stating that a preliminary determination had been made respecting the dumping of the above-mentioned goods.

Tribunal Finds Injury—Certain Grinding Media from India  

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today found that the dumping and subsidizing of certain grinding media, originating in or exported from the Republic of India, have caused injury to the domestic industry. Anti-dumping and countervailing duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency. The complainant in this case was Magotteaux Limitée of Magog, Quebec.
