Government of Canada invests in infectious disease modelling networks

Today, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Health, launched five multidisciplinary infectious disease modelling networks that will receive $10 million in funding to strengthen ties between the academic community, industry and the public sector. The results will significantly improve the coordination of infectious disease modelling to help Canada better respond to future public health threats.

Government of Canada invests to bring high-speed Internet to 130 more homes in the Pickering communities of Greenwood and Whitevale

Today, Jennifer O’Connell, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Pickering–Uxbridge, on behalf of the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, announced over $200,000 in federal funding for two projects to bring high-speed Internet to 130 underserved households in the Pickering communities of Greenwood and Whitevale, Ontario. Bell Canada is investing an additional $273,000.

Member of Parliament Lyne Bessette announces $99,999 in funding for Au Diable Vert to support the tourism recovery and create jobs in the Cantons-de-l’Est region

The Member of Parliament for Brome–Missisquoi, Lyne Bessette, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for CED, today announced $99,999 in financial support for Au Diable Vert. This non repayable contribution will enable the business to acquire and install a prefabricated four bedroom cottage as part of its tourism infrastructure development project to meet the growing demand for outdoor accommodation. It will lead to the creation of three jobs.

Government of Canada announces over $5M in clean tech funding for British Columbia Fisheries and Aquaculture Projects

Today, the Member of Parliament for Burnaby North—Seymour and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Terry Beech, on behalf of the Minister, the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, announced funding of over $5.4 million from the Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program to support 36 projects that are contributing to clean economic growth in British Columbia. The Province of British Columbia also announced a contribution of more than $785,000 in funding towards these projects.
