Government launches new intelligence sharing partnership focused on fentanyl trafficking and other criminal use of funds

Yesterday, the Government of Canada convened the first working meeting of the new Integrated Money Laundering Intelligence Partnership (IMLIP). This new partnership will support the permissible sharing of money laundering and organized crime intelligence between law enforcement and Canada’s big banks. Canada’s newly appointed Commissioner of Canada’s Fight Against Fentanyl, Kevin Brosseau, launched the inaugural meeting and gave opening remarks.

MP Hanley announces funding for climate resiliency upgrades in Old Crow, Yukon

Today, Dr. Brendan Hanley, Member of Parliament for the Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs and Minister responsible for CanNor, announced a contribution of up to $62,500 for the Old Crow Retail Cooperative Ltd. (Old Crow Co-op). This investment will help the Old Crow Co-op become more energy efficient and accessible to the local community.

Ten innovative homebuilding and construction manufacturers in southern Ontario scale up with Government of Canada investment

Today, the Honourable Ruby Sahota, Minister of Democratic Institutions and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced a combined repayable investment of nearly $19 million for 10 manufacturers in the homebuilding and construction sectors to expand production capabilities and adopt new equipment.
