Tribunal Initiates Inquiry—Drill Pipe from China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today initiated a preliminary injury inquiry into a complaint by Command Drilling Products Ltd., of Nisku, Alberta, that it has suffered injury as a result of the dumping and subsidizing of drill pipe from the People’s Republic of China. The Tribunal’s inquiry is conducted pursuant to the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) as a result of the initiation of dumping and subsidizing investigations by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Government of Canada launches next steps towards deeper methane reductions from oil and gas

The Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, today launched the Government of Canada’s consultations to seek input from the provinces and territories, Indigenous Peoples, industry, and interested stakeholders to inform the design of tougher regulations to achieve at least a 75 percent reduction in methane emissions from the oil and gas sector by 2030.

Today, Bryan May, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Defence, on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development, along with Ernie Hardeman, Member of Provincial Parliament for Oxford, on behalf of the Honourable Kinga Surma, Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure, announced more than $6 million in funding to bring access to reliable high-speed Internet to 1,191 households in rural Ontario. These communities include Innerkip, Strathallan, Braemar, Hickson, Beachville, Brownsville, Culloden, Mount Elgin, Salford, Sweaburg, Delmer, Foldens and Ostrander.
