An important chapter of the largest deployment of Canadian military personnel since the Second World War came to an end ten years ago this month. After the terrorist attacks in the United States by al-Qaeda on 11 September 2001, Canada pledged its full support and contributed forces to the international fight against terrorism initially as part of the United States led Operation Enduring Freedom.
