Canada Invests in Indigenous-led Forest Economy in Quebec

Marc G. Serré, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources, on behalf of the Honourable Seamus O’Regan Jr., Minister of Natural Resources, today announced $277,129 to the Lac Simon First Nation to support the expansion of non-timber forest production activities in the region. The investment will help the community increase mushroom production and harvesting while balancing environmental protection with other forest activities.

The Member of Parliament for Outremont and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, Rachel Bendayan, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for CED, today announced $198,000 in financial support for IMMUNI T (7206127 Canada inc.), an innovative business in the life sciences sector. This repayable contribution will enable it to acquire automated production equipment and robotize its analysis and diagnostic service lines. The project, which aims to boost the business’s growth in export markets, will lead to the creation of seven jobs.

New agreement between the governments of Canada and Quebec to help Quebecers experiencing or at risk of homelessness to protect themselves from COVID-19

Government of Canada Invests over $3 million to Support Canadians Living and Working in Long-Term Care in Yukon

Today the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Health, announced an agreement with Yukon to provide it with more than $3 million for Safe Long-term Care. Through this agreement, Yukon is using the funding to support the hiring of new staff and ensuring an adequate supply of protective equipment for staff and visitors. The funding is also supporting Yukon’s participation in Accreditation Canada programs so that it continues to meet or exceed LTC infection prevention and control standards.
