Today, the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Health, announced the signature of a bilateral agreement with Ontario to enhance the province’s virtual health services. Under the agreement, the province will invest federal funding in keeping with agreed-upon pan-Canadian priorities for accelerating virtual health care services during the pandemic.

Funding through the Investing in Canada plan will support 11 infrastructure projects in Saskatoon and area. The Government of Canada is investing more than $41.1 million in these projects, with the Government of Saskatchewan providing over $34.3 million. The City of Saskatoon is providing $25.8 million to support seven of these projects. The remaining projects are funded by other recipients. In total, this represents a combined infrastructure investment of more than $102 million. Funding recipients are responsible for any additional project costs.

Today, Gudie Hutchings, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, and Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains, on behalf of the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, announced over $481,000 in federal funding to bring high-speed Internet to rural residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, with an additional investment of nearly $183,000 from Aldera Communications. This project will help connect 1,230 underserved households in the communities of Glenburnie, Birchy Head, Shoal Brook, Woody Point, St. Paul’s, Cow Head, Three Mile Rock, Parsons Pond, Portland Creek, Daniel’s Harbour and Bellburns.
