Canada and Yukon invest in municipal infrastructure for residents of Faro

Today, the Honourable Larry Bagnell, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities; and the Honourable John Streicker, Minister of Community Services, for the Government of Yukon, announced funding for a new consolidated fire hall and public works building for the Town of Faro.

Three new backbone networks improve Internet access for 700 households in Charlevoix

Thanks to a combined investment of close to $1.5 million from the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec and Bell, 700 households in several communities in the Charlevoix region now have better access to high-speed Internet. Completion of the construction of fibre-optic backbone networks means that the communities of Maillard, Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Cap-Aux-Corbeaux, Baie-Saint-Paul, Jean-Noël and La Malbaie can now benefit from quality Internet service at a reasonable price. These three infrastructure projects were carried out as part of a large intergovernmental initiative to provide connectivity to up to 24,000 households in 58 rural communities in Quebec.
