The Minister of Middle-Class Prosperity and Associate Minister of Finance, the Honourable Mona Fortier, on behalf of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, announced an investment of up to $54.9 million in funding for 58 community-based climate action, awareness, and engagement projects through the Government of Canada’s Climate Action and Awareness Fund (CAAF). The source of funds for CAAF is the Environmental Damages Fund (EDF) in partnership with the Climate Action Fund (CAF).

Tribunal Finds Injury—Concrete Reinforcing Bar from Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today found that the dumping of concrete reinforcing bar, originating in or exported from the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Indonesia, the Italian Republic, Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, has caused injury to the domestic industry. Anti-dumping duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency. The complainants in this case were Altasteel Inc., ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, G.P., and Gerdeau Ameristeel Corporation.
