FedNor invests in advanced manufacturing to create 22 local jobs and support growth and recovery efforts in Thunder Bay

Marcus Powlowski, Member of Parliament, Thunder Bay—Rainy River, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced a FedNor investment of $848,748 in support of three strategic initiatives that will help advanced manufacturers scale up, enhance productivity and increase sales. Once complete, these projects are expected to help create 22 high-quality jobs in the City of Thunder Bay.

Backgrounder: Canada and Alberta invest in projects to support communities and improve the quality and sustainability of public facilities 

Funding through the Investing in Canada plan will support 61 infrastructure projects in Alberta. The Government of Canada is investing more than $73 million in these projects through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada plan. Contributions by recipients toward their respective projects are more than $18 million. In total, this represents a combined infrastructure investment of more than $91 million.
